Use hyphenation in textboxes in Libreoffice Draw

Hi!

I am making a poster in LibreOffice Draw and I have some text-boxes that I would like to look more compact. How can I use hyphenation within the textboxes? The text flow tab isn’t available in the edit style dialog.
Is LibreOffice Draw even the correct platform? I find it quite nice to work with, but should I be using something else for poster-design?

Thanks,
Tom

Use Writer, set the page style to a suitable size. Create the illustrations in Draw and paste into Writer. This is easier than pasting Writer frames into Draw

When using Writer, don’t use text boxes, they are drawing objects with very limited text handling. Use Frames, they can contain just about everything a Writer page can contain. The text inside uses Styles and therefore hyphenation if it is enabled. Click Insert > Frame > Frame interactively

The automatic hyphenation is disabled in a text box as default. To enable automatic hyphenation, select the text for which you want automatic hyphenation and use menu Tools > Language > Hyphenation. It is a toggle item. If no text is marked but the text box itself, then Tools > Language > Hyphenation sets it for all text in the box.
Alternatively, you can insert a Soft-Hyphen were you want to break a word. Go in text edit mode, set the cursor where the hyphenation shall appear and use menu Insert > Formatting Mark > Soft Hyphen. A Soft Hyphen is active, even if the automatic hyphenation is disabled.
