I have a small diagram in a Write document. I can create a callout, format etc but I have no idea how to put text into the callout?

just double click into the callout (You’ll see a blinking cursor in the center of the callout) and enter your text.
Hope that helps.
I did that for a text box but for some obscure reason never did it for the callout. In the works of Homer, Simpson that is, Doh!
