After updating to version 6.4.6.2 (x64) on Windows 7 SP1 Pro the Desktop shortcut only shows as a generic symbol. Likewise in the Start menu.

I carried out a Repair procedure for LibreOffice in the Control Panel, Programs and Features, but it made no difference.
You are reporting faults, you had on your system when updating LibreOffice - but what is your question? Is it How do I get the icons corrected??

This is not a fault, but the internal release number of Windows. Windows 7 (Marketing name) internally is Windows 6.1 - see also Wikipedia - Windows 7 or open a cmd terminal and execute ver.
