The easiest way is it not reduce the width of the text box to one character?

Otherwise, a complicated solution is to insert a spreadsheet:

• Insert▸Object▸OLE Object and format the vertical alignment:
• Format▸Cells▸Alignment tab▸tick Vertically stacked
