viruses in download of program????

I downloaded the program, LibreOffice_25.8.2_Win_x86-64 (1).msi and a virus scan shows multiple trojans? I used virustotal to scan the file. So what gives? should I be concerned and not install your program?

Please share a link to VirusTotal scan.

Likely this. As of today, it shows a “HEUR_NAMETRICK.D” detection by TrendMicro; I didn’t find the exact match for the “D” flavor, but the description for the “A” flavor tells:

This is a Trend Micro heuristic detection for file name with suspicious extension pattern.

No idea what suspicious they find in the file name (even if not limited to extension). Anyway, you can judge yourself.

Did you download it from the official site?

Most likely nothing. LibreOffice is quite big, and if the official download would be contaminated one would see a lot of questions here and on other places.
.

Always, but check the report.

Virus checking is today not only “I found” but also heuristic like “this behaviour can be suspicious”.
And as LibreOffice interfaces to extensions, brings its own python interpreter (on Windows) etc. there is a lot to detect and evaluate.
.
Also: How many checkers find something? Wich?

Last point - already mentioned above: Where did you load from? And is your download different from other sources.
