Visual anomalies in aarch64 for windows - icons and menus disappear

icons disappear, menus disappear, and dialog boxes disappear, with a single background colour in place of them

arm architecture and the custom processing method due to the lack of instruction set capabilities compared to x86 is blamed, but sometimes it actually works fine

i noticed the anomalies start to creep up after accidentally installing ms office 365 and uninstalling it

freedos and windows 3.1/1 comes to mind

Please test with Menu>Help>Restart in Safe Mode.

Please paste here the information in Menu>Help>About LibreOffice.

(There is an icon in the center to copy the information).

i appreciate the reply, however, this is for other people to test - i’m not getting involved in this microsoft versus freedos/libre scandal

even if i could reproduce it by reinstalling and uninstalling microsoft office, i’m not going to. if someone wants to attempt to reproduce it, which i doubt anyone will be bothered to, the keyboard commands for the menus will be needed, not just instructions like Menu->Help->Restart in Safe Mode but the keyboard shortcuts to do it, as there is no way to see the menus or dialog boxes once visuals start to act funny

Not if they can’t reproduce the result, it might be something on your particular computer.
To open LibreOffice in Safe mode without using the menu:

  1. Close LibreOffice
  2. Click Start menu and scroll down to the LibreOffice folder, click it to open it and then click LibreOffice (Safe Mode).
  3. Click Continue in Safe Mode

Are the icons, menus, etc OK?

If LibreOffice opens well enough to use the menus, please copy the details form Help > About LibreOffice dialogue by clicking the icon just after Version information. Paste the text into a comment here.

again, i’m not installing an uninstalling ms office 365 just to bring up a known bug with the aarch/arm version of libreoffice for windows. read: KNOWN bug. i’m telling you how it can be reproduced.

again, you havne’t given the keyboard shortcuts on how to get the log files when it’s occurring, as menus and dialog boxes aren’t visible.

it works fine on my pc at the moment, as i have completely reinstalled windows, and haven’t installed/uninstalled ms office. i’m not reinstalling windows again. someone else can do it. if someone wants to reproduce the bug with an arm version of libreoffice for windows, this is how to do it. i am not pursuing this further.

We aren’t asking you to any uninstalling, just to test LibreOffice and give more information for your question.

there’s no bug at the moment. i don’t understand what information you could possibly collect if the bug isn’t present.
