[SOLVED] What Are These Markings? (bookmarks they are)

Hi.

I recently notice in a document I am working on, greyed brackets around words. I found out they show when I have VIEW > FIELD SHADINGS on (using for the page numbers). The only way I found to remove these is deleting the entire word or sentence they engulf. What are they and is there a quicker way to removing them than from reading/scrolling?

Thank you.

Open the Navigator (F5), select the first bookmark, press Del, once for each bookmark.

To avoid pasting them from the source (usually an internet page), paste as unformatted text.

They are the indicators that you have a bookmark there. Bookmark marks do not print or export to pdf, they are only there to show there is a bookmark there.

If you don’t want to see them click Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > Formatting Aids and untick Bookmarks

Bookmarks, okay. I seem to have gotten a dozen. Must have accidentally done some keystrokes to put them in random places.
Thanks, all.

There is no default shortcut keys to add bookmarks.

Oh. Huh, weird.
Not even a feature I was familiar with until today.
