What folder to install built-in Help Pack with Microsoft Store installation ?

Hello,

Please, I have trouble installing the built-in help while having LibreOffice installed via the Microsoft Store.
What folder should I install it to ?

So I got LO via the Microsoft Store (to have auto updates).

I downloaded the Help Pack MSI installer.
It asks for a folder so I tried the default option plus :
C:\Users\myUserName\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4
C:\Users\myUserName\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice
(Roaming is the internal path indicated in Settings → Paths)

Should I use C:\Users\nero_\AppData\Local…\4 ?
I don’t know what it means for WIndows the Roming, Local etc

Each time i make a try installer I have to uninstall, install, and relauch LO. So that’s a pain to try so much times :confounded:
I tried in french and english

Thank you
LibreOffice is great

A related info is in Scripting libreoffice after microsoft store purchase windows 11 - #2 by mikekaganski. You may find out, that the stored apps are located under a protected folder, which you don’t have direct access to. I suppose, that you can’t install the help for the stored LibreOffice (unless you use some hacks, and maybe break your app or its updating). You would have to use the online help.

Normally, all programs under Windows are stored in the folder C:\Program Files\ are installed.
This also includes the LibreOffice Help Pack " ...\help".

Workaround: You could use Winget with a regular install. I have to admit, I don’t know, if help will be updated…

The current version of LibreOffice for Windows from the LibreOffice site automatically updates by default. See Tools - Options - LibreOffice - Online updates

[Edit]
See with Experimental mode in ReleaseNotes/24.2 - The Document Foundation Wiki

and by default in ReleaseNotes/24.8 - The Document Foundation Wiki

While closing LO is necessary I don’t uninstall before updating (and your profile is kept anyway).
.
A problem I see with the help is automated updates, as I guess some will break help again, even if you manage to put it in the correct path to be found.
.
So my “answer” would be: “Not recommended” for Microsoft Store installs. Use online help.
