Has Bugzilla – Bug 42673 - With disconnected network printers, Calc hangs opening some files (waiting on e.g. the Windows print spooler) been corrected yet?

You only needed to look at the bug report to see if if status had changed from New; it hasn’t. If you add yourself to the CC list, then you will get updates on changes.
I guess you want some help with the problem. If you are on Windows, then I strongly suggest to install your printer manufacturers’ own printer driver(s) instead of using the Windows generic driver. Most manufacturers drivers are able to supply configuration without waiting for the printer to wake up, Windows generic can’t.
Thank you EarnestAI. I did not see any solution about installing the HP drivers vice generic drivers, only the one about disabling the Load printer settings with document option. I will give this a try.
