Also there are no non-printing characters (such as; ¶) visible in-between the text on one page and the next, when non-printing characters are turned on.
Saving as .doc (had trouble using zotero for footnotes with .docx versions and my formatting was messed up even more)
I am able to insert paragraphs ‘¶’ between the text on one page and the next. When they are added or deleted the text on the subsequent page does not get ‘pushed down’ until the ‘¶’ reach the next block of text and deleting them only brings the text on the second page back up to the top of its own page not back underneath the text on the first page.
