Where can I find information about the choice "User-defined" in the "Elements" panel of Math?

Being interested in a feature with some template-like functionality in Math I tried a lot and looked for help.
No success so far.

Would this list the Math template files (extension otf ?)

The template manager doesn’t know such a thing, nor does the Save As tool.
(Or did I miss something?)

I hoped there would be a way to insert someting, the

  • formulas usable as templates or similar to AutoText
  • something like styles (sets of format settings).

.OTF = Open Type Font
I do not find any template for formulas in the LibreOffice installation.
It is possible that L.O. Manage it internally ?

The only thing that occurs to me is to create a formula, adjust all the format properties, spacing etc and use it as if it were a template. (Open, Delete and Edit The Content)

Yep, this is the usual meaning. System Settings reports there also exists a vnd.oasis.opendocument.formula-template type associated with extension .otf. It creates an ambiguity but it is nonetheless here.

In Math module, the menu Tools has an item Save as User-defined Formula. If you click on it the current formula is added to the section “User-defined” in the Elements panel.

The formula itself is stored in the registrymodifications.xcu

Thanks. I did find this nowhere in the documentation. (My Math guide is V24.8.)

Unfortunately this only saves the formula string, but no format settings as far as I can see.

Well, I can do without that. Creating my formulas as embedded objects in a helping text document, I can use AutoText, and if I want to place such a formula in a drawing (.g.) it’ a thing of a simple Copy/Paste.
