Which Java version will work with 4.4

Windows 8.1 64 bit /
Java 1.8.0_31 64 bit /
LibreOffice 4.4.0.3 start screen error message

I´ve tried JRE 7 and 8 but always get an error message on opening LO saying Java version not compatible.
Not sure if it is a bug or simply my set-up
Not urgent as LO seems to work fine for my limited needs with Java disabled.

Great speed improvement in this version - thanks all.

LibreOffice is a 32 bit app, you need to use a Java 32 bits version.

Use Java 8, and install 32-bit, then 64-bit to make 64-bit the default. You need 32-bit for browsers such as Firefox, Opera and 32-bit Chrome. The same when updating.
