I have libre office 5.2 on my Surface Pro 4 i5. Microsoft product. I don’t know if it is Windows 32 bit, or
windows 64 bit. Question again is: which version of Libre Office should I download . thank you
I don’t know if it is Windows 32 bit, or windows 64 bit.
Then learn that. Googling “how to find out if my Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit” shouldn’t be too hard.
Failing that, just try to accept what download site suggests you. It tries to automatically detect 64-bit OS, and suggest you the best match.
I am going to answer my own question, a day later: Surface Pro 4 i5 uses windows 64 bit. I ended
up successfully downloading Libreoffice 6.3.6, the one recommended for windows 64bit, if you are not a
techie and therefore would want a version that has been around longer with the kinks ironed out. I am very
happy with my download. After the download, a Libre Office window comes up giving you four choices; the first is,
to paraphrase their language, keeping the settings you had before you downloaded the newer version. I am pretty sure that is what it said. Anyway, that is the choice I made and everything seems to have turned out fine.
