Why am I not able to use "mouse pointer as pen" in Libreoffice Impress?

I went through similar questions raised here, one answer was to go to Options > LibreOffice > View > to check “Use OpenGL for all rendering”. However, after ticking the checkbox, even though I am able to use “mouse pointer as pen” in LibreOffice Impress the slide comes skewed. Without ticking the above-mentioned checkbox, I am unable to use the “mouse pointer as pen”.
I am sharing the LibreOffice version and my OS details that might help.

I can’t either with similar setup. If I change cour, I can get a dot each time I try to make a line for 3 attempts. I think it is still Bug 62366
