When I try to download my Overdrive audio file from my local library. The Libre write brings up jibberish. How do I fix?
What OS are you using?
Computers will often use a part of the file name, the “extension” (which is sometimes hidden), to determine the type of file. In your system there is a filename extension conflict. OpenOffice has registered the .odm extension for the “OpenDocument Master” file type, which will open in Writer.
Most likely you will not need to use that master-doc filetype, so you can change this registration back so it means “OverDrive Media”, and will be played by your favorite audio player or audiobook reader. The procedure to change this registration depends on which operating system you are using, but the simplest solution is often to reinstall the software you want to use for those files.
If you start a reinstall without uninstalling, many installers offer a “repair” option which should do the trick.
