Why are the ' and " signs not shown in LibreOffice Calc

Hello,
I cannot solve this problem: How to stop LibreOffice Calc from interpreting a ' sign as a 「 or 」, and a " sign as a 『 or 』when I type ' or " in a cell?
Thank you.

Maybe in menu Tools - AutoCorrect Options - Localized Options tab.

Thank you for your reply.
I tried your suggestion in AutoCorrect and set the single quotes and double quotes as defaults but it still does not fix the problem.
I am not sure why the weird symbols still show up when I type ’ or ".
:frowning:

Those are Japanese quote marks, what language have you set in your document? What language is your keyboard set to?

Thank you again.
I look at Options in my LibreOffice app and the default Language I set to is English (USA).
But there’s also the Asian language of Chinese showing up there which I don’t use.
I guess that’s because I bought my new laptop and downloaded LibreOffice from Taiwan.
I am not sure how to check the language setting for my keyboard though…
What should I do now?

For the text language, look at the center of the status bar (or menu Format - Character - Font tab).

I set the language to English from the status bar and it seems to work now – no weird symbols when I type.
Thank you!
