Just to clarify, you cannot save an image to a file, but once inserted, you can save it together with the file.
Please tell us which operating system you are using and your LibreOffice version (4 digits, e.g., 25.8.4.2).

Check the object’s type in Navigator. For an Image, you will get the “Save” context menu item.
