Why do new Writer documents begin on the right-side of the screen?

Hello,
Can someone tell me why my new documents in libreoffice-writer begin on the right side of the screen (I have to scroll over to get to my new document & page 2 goes clear over to the left & below, etc…) – it’s very annoying.

tried to attach a screenshot here, but was told I have to have “karma3”…

Why have all my (saved) Writer documents shifted to the right-hand-side of my screen?
How can I return Writer to normal view
How can I change the page (view) layout?
Why does Writer show two pages side by side?
my five-page odt file shows all five pages. I only want the last page.
Text shifted, page break broken, no print preview

As far as I understand your description:

Menu View → Zoom... → View layout

Select

ʘ Single page

instead of

ʘ Columns ☑ Book mode

How to change writer page layout view?
