When typing anything, the tab button will not work. Why? Also there is no “save” button. Also, there is no column button to create columns.
Do you mean the “TAB” key on your keyboard? And do you mean the “Save button” as the icon on the Toolbar of the Libreoffice? Or do you have a spacial keyboard with “Save” key with dedicated function keys? Or do you mean the “Ctrl-S” key combination as “Save button” on a normal keyboard?
What operating system and LibreOffice version are you using?

There is “Insert column” icon on the toolbar (maybe you need switch it On ).
Which LO component are you using? Writer, Calc, Draw, Impress? You tagged common, meaning you encounter the issue in all components. You can create columns in all these, so we can’t sort out the problem.
I am using LibreOffice version 18.2008.12711.0. I am referring to WORD, assuming that is the “Writer”. With that said, the Tab button on the keyboard does not work in this program. As for the tags, I’m not sure what to put there. I also could not figure out how to make columns in this same WORD program. As for SAVE, yes I mean the icon on the Toolbar on the LibreOffice. There is no SAVE Button on the toolbar.
And forgetful me, I had forgotten about “Control-S” to save my work.

Version 18.2008.12711.0 ??? Latest version of LO is 7.0.x. You are probably referring to Micro$oft Office suite and most likely to its Word document editor. Sorry but this site is dedicated to the LibreOffice suite which is a totally different application.
