I’ve just generated an alphabetical index in a document which I received in docx format, and which I’m editing in docx format.
I’ve just generated an index with “combine identical entries with ff”, but instead of “ff”, it comes generates “sq” or “sqq”. It looks as if it’s being generated for a different language, but I’ve used “Tools” to set the language to English UK for all text and it makes no difference. I’ve never had this problem before. How can I get around it?
Opening a DOCX, then editing based on the LO features, then saving into DOCX format means two filetype conversions.
There is not 100% compatibility between the different file formats. You always will lose some formatting properties - for example the DOCX file format can not handle the Page Styles.
