I am trying to use the Solver to find the roots of the BesselJ function around 4 and 7. The Solver finds a solution and puts it in the cell. But when I click ok it says ‘No solution found’ and put the values I put in the cells back in. I am using the DEPS Evolutionary Algorithm. Goal Seeker finds the answer. But why doesn’t the Solver work right.
