Windows 11 installation fails

As a computer technician, I have installed LibreOffice for clients for literally decades. Yesterday, I tried to install LibreOffice on a client’s brand new Windows 11 mini-PC and it simply would not install. Error code 2503

The mini-PC is a BeeLink with an i7 processor and 32GB of RAM.

The install package first complained about a couple of Intel utility packages running in the background, which I disabled. LibreOffice still wouldn’t install.

I’m wondering if this is an unintended consequence of creating two different Windows installation packages based upon processor type.

I would be grateful for any help.

Thanks for your help. I’ll try that later today.

I see that the document is many years old, but it says this should treated as a temporary workaround. Will there eventually be a permanent fix for this problem that doesn’t compromise the security of the Temp folder?

I don’t think the problem has anything to do with LibreOffice.
It is a Windows issue.
You could try logging in as an administrator, though I have no idea if that will help.
As I said, LibreOffice has nothing to do with how permissions are handled in Windows.

Thanks, everyone who replied. Changing the permissions on the Temp folder allowed the installation to complete normally.

I have installed LibreOffice on other Windows 11 computers, including my own, and never encountered a failed installation before. As I said at the top of my post, I’ve been installing LibreOffice for decades and have never before had a failed installation.

Plus, the Windows 11 computer I experienced this problem on is brand new, with a clean, upgraded installation of Windows 11, and using the default administrator account (the only Windows account on the computer).

So, I am skeptical about your assertion that this problem has nothing to do with LibreOffice. It seems to me that we’re left in the uncomfortable position of simply not knowing what’s causing this problem. Never a comfortable position to be in.
