Hello,
I am using Windows 11 with LibreOffice and I am experiencing a persistent issue with file icons.
For .odt / .ods / .odp files:
- When refreshing the Desktop or opening a folder, the correct LibreOffice icon appears for a split second
- Immediately after, it changes to a generic document icon
Relevant details:
- File associations are correct
- LibreOffice repair and reinstall do not fix the issue
- Clearing Windows iconcache and thumbcache do not fix the issue
- The issue only happens when thumbnails are enabled in File Explorer
- Disabling thumbnail previews prevents the issue, but is not a real solution
- This is not related to OneDrive
System:
- Windows 11
- Local Desktop (not synced)
- LibreOffice version: 25.8.4
It appears to be a Windows 11 File Explorer icon/thumbnail cache issue that overrides the correct application icon after initial load.
Is this a known issue, and is there any recommended fix or workaround?
