I tried to open 2 odt documents an got an “Write Error” message. Please help
It sounds as if LibreOffice doesn’t have permission to write to the directory where the files are stored.
LibreOffice creates a lock file on opening a document but it seems it cannot write the lock file to disk.
In Windows you might have to add soffice.bin to an allowed list in anti ransomware setting or add soffice.bin to the allowed list of your anti virus
In Mac OS you might have to give LibreOffice full disc access
It is best if you give operating system and version and LibreOffice version.
I’ve recently seen this on a rather full Win10 computer (before replacing the main drive). Problem was gone after closing LO and starting new, but maybe even a problem of timing, as the machine started to do things slow also in other programs…
