Writer: Freezes when creating TOC

Hello!
I recently started using Libre Office and I ran into a problem.

When trying to create a Table of Content, Libre Office writer freezes. The document is 180 MB in size, 50 pages long and very picture-heavy
There are 4 level 1 index entries, a dozen level 2 entries and level 4 entries. Some of the entries use custom entry text, but not all of them.

The document also contains a few cross-references which are unrelated to the TOC.
I’m using Libre office 25.8.1.1. x86_64 for windows 11.

What I already tried: Disabling the preview and restarting in safe mode.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Kyodake’s suggestion seems to have vanished, but their suggestion to replace the pasted images with inserts seems to have fixed the issue!
Thanks!

When you paste an image into Writer it is saved into the file in PNG format so no pixel information is damaged. This will result in a large file size usually.
If the original image is in JPG format then Insert - Image will insert the JPG file into the Writer document, often with substantial size saving.

@Kyodake Have you used an automatic translation tool? Many sentences don’t make sense (like the one referencing a “carpet”). It might be better to post your answer/suggestion in your native language (Spanish?) and ask a contributor to translate.
