Writer hangs on splash screen if no networking available

I am running Libreoffice 7.4.7.2 on Manjaro linux on an XPS15 laptop.

After recent updates, LibreOffice Writer/Calc/Draw hang on startup for 10-20 seconds if there is no network connection available. If there is a network connection then everything works fine…

It’s really annoying as I am frequently travelling and extensively use these apps for offline work.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

LO 7.5.3.2 very slow to start

Since the last update (in Manjaro Linux) LibreOffice has become really slow to start up. uninstalling xdg-desktop-portal-gnome solved the problem.
