I have win7 and LO 4.2.0.4
I want to restructure my large document into smaller ones with the use of a master document.
My document makes use of crossed references and linked section. If I split the document into smaller ones, links will have to cross the border of each documents to refer to the information contained in the other splitted documents.
How can this be done?
I am not sure how the built-in function for splitting documents will cope with existing cross-references and links. The linked sections should not present any problem, although you may need to re-link (re-insert) them after breaking the large document up, but at least this can be done.
The cross-references however will be a problem for references to bookmarks and reference marks, or to a numbered element.
EDIT: It is possible to work around the cross-reference limitation between sub-documents but it is inelegant. Since this question is primarily asking about linked sections, I will update my answer in the second link with details on how to go about this.
