MS Word has a function enabling the formatting of pasted text to match destination formatting ie changing the format of the text from the original to that of the destination. How can this be done in Writer?
Should I be addressing Dave or Alex, heh? Did Dave both Ask & Answer, and Alex merely Close or was it the other way around? Anyway, apologies for getting any sand in the ointmentâŚ
Could you please verify that this is the case? The answer is probably just in front of me, yet remains hiddenâŚ
Thanks again,
Sherlock
Use Ctrl+Shift+V rather than Ctrl+V to paste, and then select âUnformatted textâ from the popup window. Using the menu, itâs Edit > Paste Special⌠> âUnformatted textâ.
This did not entirely answer the questionâŚ
The question was regarding [How to paste text of any Formatting-Type into a Writer document and have its Formatting-Type changed to match the Formatting of the Writer document.]
The pasting of un-formatted text that accepts some of the destination formatting, whilst ignoring others (such as Bullets and Numbering) does not answer this question as asked, and my question is basically the same as the one originally asked, yet a bit more specificâŚ
Must the document into which we are pasting be only that of a LibreOffice Writer document previously âSaved Asâ the type *.ODT, or can it have an extension of any type accepted in the âSave Asâ dialog? E.g., *.doc, *.docx, etcâŚ
I would appreciate any help offered.
Thanks,
Sherlock
