When trying to print an odt file in portrait it continues to print in landscape. I’ve corrected print preferences numerous times and it still prints landscape even though the printing setup indicates portrait. I’ve uninstalled my printer and reinstalled and am still coming up with the same problem. Then I tried changing the document to MS 2007 without avail. And finally, I copied the odt text to a text document and was able to print the document. Please give me a hand in this frustrating problem. Thanks in advance.
Is the page style for the document set to landscape? This is different from the printer setting and independent.
I’ll have to take a look at that. Thanks.

Yes, the page style is assigned portrait. Any other ideas…?
OS name? exact LO version? save format? Attach a sample file.
OS: Win10 pro/64bit, Libre office latest.

Not informative at all because update pace is not the same on all platforms. Here (Fedora 44), I am at 26.2.5.2 and soon under 26.8.x.y.
I’d try to generate a pdf, then print the pdf.
Interesting would be, if the pdf is shown correctly.
The reverse I have seen sometimes for printers using smaller paper than A4. Modern printer setup assumes paper feed as portrait.
No idea for the reverse.
If the problem is in LibreOffice you could try safe-mode, now called troubleshot mode. If the problem vanishes there, reset your profile (after backup).
.
As I don’t see, if you can not print in portrait at all or only have to adjust the settings:
The print settings can be in the template and files itself. When I got a new printer I had to adjust several templates by doing a minor change, reverting it, printing once to the new printer (actual print can be aborted at the printer) and save the template again.
Libre Office Version: 26.2.52 (x86_64)
Could you attach a 1- or 2-page sample file to test here?
OK, please bear with me and will try to do that 2morrow.

What is the page format (menu Format - Page Style - Page tab)?
What is the paper size in the printer dialog (menu File - Printer Settings - Properties?
EDIT:
For “page format” and “paper size” I mean A4, Letter, etc.
They’re all showing portrait but still printing landscape.
No, it’s not. But, it still prints landscape in .odt, ms 2007 format but not in plain .txt format.
Interim fix was as indicated in my message. Using a text (.txt) document to print in portrait.
