Writer not showing all available fonts

I recently made the switch to LibreOffice, after M.Office made me unable to create or edit docs bc they finally realized I had probably graduated uni (took em almost 4 years…).

Anyway, I tend to use Garamond for a lot of my writing, and when I type it in the font bar it works and changes the selected text to Garamond. And yet it doesn’t appear in the font drop-down menu… Can this be fixed?

The word in the font box, Garamond, is it in italics? That means the font is not installed and a substitute font is being used, maybe Liberation Serif.
.
I guess your Garamond font is a Type 1 font which are no longer supported by LibreOffice, nor even Adobe now. You might need to acquire another Garamond font. You could try Cormorant Garamond, https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Cormorant+Garamond or EB Garamond, also from Google Fonts.
.
Before you install the font, make sure that LibreOffice is closed otherwise it might appear to freeze
.
[Edit]
I guess it might be that the font wasn’t installed but was used on demand from an online repository by MS 365, see Cloud fonts in Office - Microsoft Support

What version of LibreOffice and what is your Desktop OS?

If Garamond is not installed on your system, I suspect there is a substitution going on. The fix in that case is to install Garamond.

Oh whoops, forgot to include the Mac and OSX… My first post on here, so I’ll include it in future. But this one’s solved! Thnx

Thanks! It worked
