Writer: put some footnote symbols in superscript

I’m using the *, †, ‡ footnote sequence. The problem is that the characters *, † and ‡ are already superscript-appearing in fonts, whereas § shows at the height of the full line. So here, where all are set to appear regular:

Is there a way, even a manual way, to have § display superscript but the rest regular?

The best way is to use a character style with superscript attribute and apply that character style to that sign or any other sign.

Thanks – however I’ve tried this and it did something really weird and made the selected character sort of half subscript!

You can tray to unselect the Automatic checkbox and use a percent of the character

I did. It works on normal text but not on footnote figures it seems!

Note anchor (inside text) and footnote “label” (at bottom of page in the note area) are separately formatted. You must adjust them individually.

Yup. But it isn’t working on either.

If I do a test document, it comes out correctly

  • What font are you using?
  • Can you provide your .odt sample?
  • Does it show correctly in Safe Mode, Help > Restart in safe mode > Continue in Safe Mode?
  • What version of LO and OS (click help about and use the icon to copy the text)?
