After a recent update my styles list always sorts by “hierarchical”. My preference is to sort by applied styles.
Is there a way to change the default styles sort so I don’t have to change it every time I use Writer?
Most user settings are stored in the so-called user profile. Normally, these should also be preserved.
However, many settings depend on whether you have entered your personal data in LibreOffice (this can also be dummy data).
With your setting I am not sure if it works like this. You can test it.
It is always wise to mention OS name and LO version because nobody knows your computer.
I bet you’re under Windows whose installer is known to damage your existing user profile.
At the bottom of the styles list is a combo box/(dropdown list) where you can choose your preferred sort/filter for styles.
You choice is remembered across restarts.
Thank you for confirming that this selection was to be saved across restarts. “Applied” has been forgotten after restart for weeks. However, it was fixed by simply selecting any other sort instead of “Applied” and restarting. That choice was remembered. Then I subsequently went back to “Applied” sort and is was able to remember it now.
And BTW, this is ver 7.4.3.2 in Opensuse Tumbleweed Linux, installed using native package manager.
