In Writer, can I delete all text which has the same style?

Opal Carew writes her novels by first creating a list of scene headers each styled as “Scene Header”, then writing the book around those headings, then finally deleting all text styled as “Scene Header”. In MS Word, this is done by Find - Select All for the specified style, then just clicking Delete.

Can this be done in Writer? That is, can all the text styled with a specified style be deleted with a single action? Note that we are not trying to delete a style or replace a style by another style. We are trying to delete all content that has a specified style.

I deleted your duplicate post to avoid confusion.

I closed another duplicate post. What’s the matter?

You can do this from the Find and Replace dialog.

From the Menu “Edit”, “Find & Replace…” or press ctrl+h.

Expand “Other Options” and select “Paragraph Styles”.

From the “Find” drop down list select the style “Scene Header”.

Click on “Find All”. This selects all text with the selected paragraph style.

Use the “Del” key to delete the selected text.
