2012-12-14 00:35:23 +0200 cevaba yorum yazıldı How to make a chart with sorted values from a column?

I assume your answer is correct but by now I can't validate it, as I discovered that the sort function is broken with my LO version (, at least under my OS (kubuntu). I provided some informations about this to an already existing unconfirmed bug ticket. I hope it will be corrected soon.

2012-12-13 11:41:35 +0200 bir soru sordu How to make a chart with sorted values from a column?

Maybe it will be clearer if I explain my use case. As a teacher, I give scores to students ranging from 0 to 20. I made a very simple table with names of the students, their various scores, and finally their average score. If I just take a line, it looks like this (csv style) :

DOE; John; 12; 8; 10;

I would like to display a chart next to this table, showing the average score of every student, but sorted in the ascending order. I know it would be possible to sort the column and then make the chart, but I would have to do this again every time I change or add a score. Is there a way to automatically sort results in the chart without altering the column?

Well, I think you'll be happy to read these pages : http://fridrich.blogspot.ch/2012/06/libreoffice-ms-publisher-import-filter.html http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.0#Filters So it seems next iteration of LibreOffice will include a MS Publisher filter, so that you can open them within Draw.

I looked at the bug 56960. I don't know how your file should look like, but I can guarantee the five sheets are there at least using LO 3.6.2 (Summary, Contact, Pipeline Opportunity details, Action).

Does this mean you are under Linux? If yes, the problem can be that you don't have the right fonts (eg : Times New Roman), but you can install them. Under Ubuntu, the package is ttf-mscorefonts-installer. I exchange files with lots of people under Windows, I have never been frustrated but once.

Did you try to remove the .config/libreoffice folder in your home (don't forget to do a backup)? Then try to open LO again. Please give feed back.

As TJ said, the lo-menubar package is supposed to be useless since the 3.6.3 version.

I can't see how the fact that XLS export is not perfect relates to your question (can I use LO alone?). You should point out which functionalities you can't find in LO, so we can help you and find them. But as a general answer, I would say : yes, of course, you can use LO alone (as I do).

Yes, in LO it's a two steps process. Select the first slide of your slideshow, then hit F5.

2012-10-21 20:00:18 +0200 soruya yorum yazıldı Daemon to convert docs to pdf?

What do you call a doc? Is it a .doc or is it any document that LO can handle? What's more, I think you should be more specific about your use case if you want an answer : do you want to run it on a server? Is it for batch conversions? Maybe LO is even not the appropriate solution for what you want.

Well, did you set non printable characters as visible? If so, you should see black dots instead of spaces, arrows where there are tabs and typical characters for end of paragraphs. Often, the problem you describe is caused by empty lines one forgot to delete.

2012-10-14 18:43:46 +0200 bir soru cevapladı Deleting a page

Well, it depends. First of all, you should set non printable characters to visible (ctrl+F10). Then, if it's a text, delete every line of empty text under the last useful one. If there is a table at the bottom of the first page (so you can't delete the empty line at the top of the second one), place the cursor after the last character of the last cell of your table (that is, the one in the last row of the last column) and press ctrl+maj+del.

Does one of these solve your problem?

2012-10-14 18:30:19 +0200 bir soru cevapladı Converting to MSWord is not good

So, what is your question? Although I doubt there are problem for such simple features as bullet lists (unless you are under MacOS), it is well known there are problems converting the international standard format of LO to the closed and buggy format from Microsoft.

As this is not a question I vote down your post, but here's my advice :

  1. Go to the Libre Office bug-tracker and create an account.
  2. Search for a similar bug. If there is not, fill a new one. In both cases, please send a buggy file to help developers in solving the bug.

Go to Tools > Options and then to LibreOffice > Appearance. There you can customize the document background color as well as the application background color. They are at the top of the list.

As you're french, it must be : Outils > Options puis LibreOffice > Apparence. Les couleurs à modifier sont Arrière-plan du document et Arrière-plan de l'application. Elles sont parmi les premiers items de la liste.

You got me wrong. Preferences > Appearance is NOT the place to go. If under mac there isn't a Tools > Options menu (which I doubt), go to what you call Preferences, but then go to LibreOffice Writer > Grid.
