(Solved) Calc field Pop down calendar

I know this has been asked before, but as soon as LO bring out a new version, stuff stops working.
I have 250 date fields in my calc spreadsheet and was hoping to have a little pop down (or up) calendar box that I could access by clicking on the relevant field.

I have LO Version: 5.1.6.2
Build ID: 1:5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial2
CPU Threads: 2; OS Version: Linux 4.4; UI Render: default;
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); Calc: single

Now I presume the calendar add-on Python Calendar 4.01 may have worked in previous versions, but it doesn’t now.
There is no update I can see for the calendar.

I tried opening forms control and designer, to see if I could do it that way, but the “more options” is always greyed out, no matter what I toggle on or off.
The instructions to get the date icon ungreyed do not work, and I think it is because too much has changed for me to follow old instructions.

I’m now at a loss.

I just tried this using LO v5.3.4.2 on Mint 18.2 and had no problems. Then switched over to Ubuntu 16.04 Unity, erased all of LO and installed Ubuntu release of Calc, installed the extension and also had no problem. Switched over to Ubuntu Mate and again no problem. Result:

There are two tool bars for Forms: Form Design & Form Controls. Each contain a Design Mode toggle button which goes in & out of design mode. When off, most items are not available. Mode OFF:

Design mode ON:

Oops!
After looking at what your setup was, and realising it was the same as mine, I rebooted.

Guess what!

Jeez!

Thanks

Any idea on the forms thing?

The icons are slightly different, but when toggling design mode, the only icon that un-grey’s is the form navigator (6th from the left in the first window).

Can’t insert an image as I don’t have 3 points.

Actually my icons are the same. The screenshot was from a newer version. Back on the Ubuntu version I don’t see a problem as you state. Only suggestion I have is to reset the user profile. To do so follow instructions on this post.

The first part didn’t work.
Couldn’t do the second part as there’s no “Restart in safe mode”
Had enough. Can’t do it. Will have a beer instead.
Thanks anyway.
When I sober up, I’ll post a separate query.

I’m almost sober now, so I’ll post as “Forms design on one spreadsheet, not in another”, as I have found a slightly interesting development. And anyway, the original question is definitely solved. Thanks
