Custom paragraph style as default footnote paragraph style

Hi everyone,

I have a subdocument template for different authors and all the applied paragraph styles are custom styles with identifier prefix in their names. The only excepetion is the Footnote style, that I can’t rename nor I can set a custom paragraph style as default in «Tools/Fotnotes and Endnotes» (I would like to set «Custom Prefixed Footnote Style» as default). Any idea of solution?

Footnote belongs in Special Styles category which is displayed by Tools>Footnotes/Endnotes. I then tried to create a custom one in this category but it ended up in Conditional Styles (in Organizer tab) which is an error either though being listed in Custom Styles in the style navigator.

IMHO, it smells like a bug.

Hi

ToolsFootnotes and EndnotesStyles offers only the styles in the category Special Styles.

When creating your custom style, select this category:

Now you can use it:

@PYS: when I tried to answer OP’s question, I was on my laptop with an outdated LO version. Assigning categories did not work. It works on my desktop with up-to-date LO. Has this feature been fixed? If so, from which version is it reliable?

Hi @ajlittoz

Searching for “special style” in Issues does not return anything significant, so … I do not know, sorry.

It fits just fine. Thanks. I see after changing style category that my prefixed style appears both on custom styles and special styles lists. It seems that any created style is considered as custom style indpendently of marking its category so. That’s fine.
