How do I edit a table inside a frame?

I had a table with three columns. I wanted to make them all narrower, but the first column was automatically stretched out so that the table could fill the width of the page. This was a problem.

So I added a frame around the table.

Now I had two problems.

I can change the size freely and I can move the thing around and change the text flow around it, so at least that part was solved as expected. But however I click or double-click in the frame and whatever menus I look at, I cannot find a way to edit the table. I cannot change the text and I still cannot make the first column narrower. Most options in the Table menu are greyed out and any clicking or dragging only affects the frame, not the table inside the frame. Even when there is a tooltip saying “adjust table column”, clicking and dragging just moves the frame.

How can I access and edit the table that is inside the frame?

LibreOffice 4.0 Writer

Solved it!

All I had to do was to first click outside the frame. Then it was possible to click a cell in the table.
