Multiple Input list in Writer with same Items on list ?

Example: I created a Input List in Writer with 3 items: "a", "b" and "c". It works fine.

But I need to use this input list many times in the same document and the items will change in time (I will need to add new items from time to time, example, add item "d"), so If a add a new item I would like it to be added to all "copies" of the very same input list.

If I just copy/paste the input list, then I add a new "item" to one, it doesn´t add to the other ones.

Is it possible to created a perfect replica of the input list ? So I can choose diferent items on each one, but they will have the very same items ?)

If the above is not possible, is there any way to make Input List Field get items data from a external database? Or any other solution ?

Thanks in advance...

Almost... but not quite. If you insert the list in a section, then you can change the "Drag mode" in the Navigator to "Insert as Link" and then drag and drop the section containing the list to a new location, and the content will be copied without problems and will update after any change you perform... but the list numbering in the copy will follow that of the original list, I found no easy way to make it restart. So, here it is a workaround: create a section, and inside the section a two level list, something like this

  1. First level, to be hidden
    1. First item in second level
    2. Second item in second level

Now completely select the first line and apply to it a white color. Sadly, a character style will now work here, because only the direct formatting will "hide" the numbering too.

Finally, go to the navigator, change the Drag Mode to "Insert as Link" and drag&drop the entry to the new place. Each time you make a change in the original section, you need to go to Tools → Update → Update All to refresh the "copy."

See attached example:

CopyList.odt

I colored the first entry in light gray instead of white so you can see the "trick." Each time you open the file, Writer will ask you to update the links... it seems you can choose to not do so, the result is the same.

Note: it is possible to create a two level list style in which the first numbering level has applied a character style with white font color, but maybe it's a bit too much for this situation ;)

I´m sorry but I think we are talking about different things here...

What I meant was: Insert -> Field -> More Fields -> Functions -> Input List Then add 3 items "a", "b" and "c" (or whatever)

copy/paste this "input list" (field) 10 times.

After that I need to add more "items" to the first input list.

I want all others to update itself with thos new items, without the need to update manually.

Thank you very much anyway for your time !!
