LIbO 4.0.4.2 / XP / History Master 1.1.1

In Writer I assigned the "Recent Documents" command as an icon to the standard toolbar however when I click it, nothing happens. I expected the list of recent documents opens for selection of wanted file.

I did: right clicked toolbar selected customize toolbar selcted Standard toolbar clicked Add selected Category: Application / Commands: Recent Douments clicked Close clicked OK closed and restarted LibO Writer clicked Recent Document Icon => nothing happens

Is my expectation wrong? Do I miss a certain setting somewhere else? Do we have a bug?

Thanks in advance for help.

Adding the command / function "Recent Documents" (toolbar / shortcut key) has never worked (LibO/OOo).

See also: Recent documents assigned to shortcut key not working.

There will be a dropdown menu next to the "Open" button
as a new feature in LibreOffice 4.1 (fdo#42418).

Bad news and good news. Thanks for the information. The new solution (v4.1) looks good.
