not able to view the contents of the slide in normal view . but can view the contents during slide show only.why?

in impress presentation i can view the slide panes . But i cannot see the contents of the slide in the normal mode and is not able to edit it. During slide show only i can view the contents, Why?

Which OS and LibreOffice-Version do you use? Which file type you save?
