I’m using Writer to make a fillable PDF form. So I’m inserting text boxes using the form controls toolbar etc. That’s all fine.
The default font for each text box seems to be “Ubuntu” font, 11 point. I’d like to set the default font for all text boxes to something different (eg Arial 9 point).
How can the default style for form text boxes be changed? I tried changing the character style “User Entry” but that didn’t seem to make a difference.
I’m using LibreOffice on Ubuntu 19.04.
Afaik the default is taken from your desktop managers default for general text (I’m using openSUSE, KDE, Noto Sans, 10pt and that’s exactly the default in the control properties. Thus it seems it’s not configurable within LibreOffice but within your operating system).
Thank you. Your are correct. On Ubuntu Mate this is set from the application font. It is confusing as the control property when control originally is inserted takes on the application font. If changed, it retains the new setting but the control property still states (Default).

The Text Box control settings are the properties of the control. With the form in edit mode, right click the control and select Control Properties.... On the General tab is the Font setting. Click the ellipsis and a dialog will be presented to change the font (my default shows Ubuntu 10pt).
You can change multiple controls at once if it is a common setting. Select controls with the left mouse button while holding down the Ctrl key. When all are selected, right mouse click and proceed as above.
Thanks. But it’s inconvenient to have to change the property on every text box. That’s why I asked about changing the default. Ideally it would be a style which can be changed, affecting all text boxes at once. Also, once the font has been set on a text box, how do you change it back to “(Default)”?
