How to use an Avery label template

I have LO 6.3.4.2 on Mac OS Catallina. I need to print Avery labels “Presta 94210”. I cannot find that label at LO>File>New>Labels>Brand & so I downloaded a template from Avery. The file’s extension is .doc, and it opens fine in LO Writer. Is there a way to add that template to LO so that it will appear at LO>File>New>Labels? Thank you.

Hello,

labels visible in File -> New -> Labels are not defined using templates but are defined by their respective format description in an XML file called labels.xml, which can be found within the application installation directory. Thus you cannot use the template to make it appear in the respective dialog.

You have 2 choices:

  1. Create an .ott template from the .doc and use that like any other writer template
  2. Create your own "Presta 94210 Label definition under File -> New -> Labels -> Tab: Format and Save button

(Hopefully I got the measures right - not quite familiar with imperial units)

Hope that helps.
