Cannot open Google drive. Also it has a 4-digit, not 6-digit PIN.

I’m using LibreOffice 6.2.
I have files on Google drive.

  1. Is my username on LibreOffice the same as the full name Google gives me, or the first part of my G-mail account.
e.g. When I log into Google, if my gmail acct is “abc123@gmail.com” Do I use “abc123” on LibreOffice, or do I use “abc123@gmail.com
  2. LibreOffice asks for a 6-digit pin. I just updated my Google drive pin and it is limited to 4-digits.
    Help would be appreciated.

6-digit PIN is required for Two-Factor-Authentication and provided via Google App Authenticator (Thus it is a one-time dynamically changing PIN)

Does that mean one must be using Google Authenticator to access Google Drive files?

Hello,

In addition to comment by @anon73440385, if you are trying to use the 'Open Remote` selection in LO, it has not worked in some time. Please see this post (just one of many posted here) regarding this → Libre office remote files with google authenticator code (six digital pin)

Does that mean one must be using Google Authenticator to access Google Drive files?

I don’t know how it is supposed to work. But I’m quite sure that it is not the way to go, to implement storage device integration into applications. Such thing has been done for decades within the operating systems and I don’t see any need to waste developer resources implementing storage device integration application by application (I’d support eliminating all these storage device integration parts from the LibreOffice code).
