Unable to embed particular font in ODP file

I’m trying to embed a font into my ODP presentation with the intention of providing the file as a template to colleagues. I’ve had success embedding default fonts such as “Liberation Sans” or even fonts from my OS such as “Ubuntu”. However, when I select one of our proprietary fonts (e.g. Circular Std Black) I end up with an ODP file without the font (I have unzipped it and checked the fonts directory). The font is in OTF format. I’ve converted it to TTF but that didn’t seem to make a difference.

Do you have any ideas what could be off with this font and/or how I can investigate further?

Maybe the font disallows embedding?

I was not aware that fonts had an embedded licensing flag. Mike’s comment above was the hint i needed and I found this page which explains (In the context of MS Word, but it applies to LO as well):

You can see the technical details for the OTF flag in the spec here:

I checked my own font by opening it in FontDrop (https://fontdrop.info/) and checking the “Data” tab were I found that the licensing rights flag (fsType) is set to 4 (Preview & Print embedding) which indeed means that I’m not authorized to embed the font in an editable document.

I don’t have enough points to officially accept my own answer. But this is the answer.

I’ve given you karma so you should be able to do so.
