German Dictionary not working. Bug?

Hi, I have LibreOffice 6.4.2.2 installed (under Debian Stable).
The German Dictionary is active but is not working. So no words are underlined in auto-correct mode and also in the Correction Mode (F7) LO Writer doesn’t find any misspelled words…

Does anyone here know of that bug and/or can verify this?

  1. Read this tutorial.
  2. If you can’t find an answer, read these guidelines and ask a good question.

In particular, you mention The German Dictionary. What is it, where did you get it?

In addition:

Language support of LibreOffice/German

Sorry but all of this doesn’t work.
It did work with the last version. I downloaded and installed LibreOffice including this:
http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/6.4.2/deb/x86_64/LibreOffice_6.4.2_Linux_x86-64_deb_langpack_de.tar.gz
Also this package is installed: hunspell-de-de-frami

What exactly does not work? What exactly did you try? Unless you provide a detailed description of your actions and results, nobody will be able to help you.

I’m telling you: It’s a bug - at least in the downloadable deb-version from libreoffice.org. Test it yourself.
For myself I solved the problem like that:

sudo apt-get -t buster-backports install libreoffice hunspell-de-de-frami hyphen-de libreoffice-gtk3 libreoffice-l10n-de

You can report it as a bug on Bugzilla or check there if there is already an entry.

Please provide the link from the entry here. To do this, edit your questioen.

I can’t test because I don’t use Debian or a derivative. My system is openSUSE. And I don’t use a German langpack, just install an extension when I need to check German. Thus, there may be a bug in the particular langpack. As ebot advises, report it.
