Open JDK question

Hi,

Anyone using openjdk for windows and if so which version or flavour as their seem to be heaps of options

Thanks

Hello,

for the sake of simplicity I’d suggest to use Latest release | AdoptOpenJDK - Open source, prebuilt OpenJDK binaries, which provides Installation packages, which can be installed like any other software on Windows (.exe or .msi installation packages available), while at http://openjdk.java.net/ you’ll find only ZIP archives (as far as I evaluated that site). In addition JRE’s are also available at AdoptOpenJDK, while everything from http://openjdk.java.net/ is full JDK packages.

If you consider to use AdoptOpenJDK go with the hotspot releases and (my personal taste) use this Version 11 LTS JRE MSI Install Package

Hope that helps

@anon73440385, thank you for the detailed info, much appreciated

How to install Java (JRE/JDK) so that LibreOffice could use it?

Install the correct JRE - LibreOffice on windows 10

I hope this can help.

@Hrbrgr, thanks for the links.
