Problems in opening Libre office in iMac

I have Libre Office version 6.1.5.2 in iMac. I have had to wait quite some time for the program to open. When I up-dated the operation system into Catalina the waiting time is even slower, last time 8 minutes and I have to try several times before LO even opens. I do not remember where I originally loaded LO from. Now I tried to check in Apple’s App Store to find a Mac version but I only found something called Libre Office Vanilla which was payable. Word seemed to be without charge.

Why has it become so difficult to use LO and how to solve the problem?

Have you provided Full-Disk-Access to LibreOffice.App? If not, please see my answer to question Unable to Save or Save As any document even in Safe Mode

try update your LibreOffice to 6.4 version or to 7.0

In my opinion OL 6.4 and 7.0.3 has issues running on macOS Catalina and now macOS Big Sur.
In my case, document created with previous version opening incorrectly - from original alignment on the left now documents open are aligned on the right. Also

cursor has been replaced with editing mark I can’t get rid off
when I tried to edit and remove different characters that editor inserted in to the text it seems like I am typing from right to left. I would like to type in simple English. I tried to verify any changes in the settings and can’t find option to correct the issue. Problem exist at every line i am trying to edit.

Currently I am running OL 7.0.3.1 on Big Sur on Mac Mini Late 2014 with 16 GB RAM, as far as I know it complies with all the requirements.
