When I open a new text document, the document openings in a tiny screen, about 1 inch by 1.5 inch. How do i change
this to allow a normal screen size view to work on. I’ve looked everywhere, but the right spot and I dont seem to be able to find the answer to this question. Thanks for your help with this.

Hello @Cruisin, Can you share your LibreOffice version and operating system? To do that, choose menu Help - About LibreOffice and copy from there, press edit below your question and paste.

Maybe you can edit the title, and change it for something like: Writer opens in a tiny window.
2020, eh? I’m having the same problem in 2023…clearly, this software isn’t worth the cost…! Does anyone have a solution to this ridiculous situation – who needs a document created to be 1" x 1-1/2"???
As LibreOffice is free software, without obligation to pay anything I’d be interested in your math…
Some people actually print labels with LibreOffice, so it is good we can do this, if we need. You didn’t describe what YOU did.
Go to View | Zoom and check it is set to a suitable value such as 100%.
Thank you! Being old and computer illiterate, it took me awhile to find View, but once I did, I was able to adjust the value. I really appreciate your help! Your help desk is a huge asset.
And I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all the help I’ve received concerning my problem. As my username states, I’m pretty computer illiterate, a child of the mid-20th century, and impatient with all the new “gizmos”. I only use a pc for the three or four tasks I need to perform, and the umpteen thousands of other available functions just make my brain fritz. All of you have been most kind in guiding me to a solution, and I’m grateful to each and every one of you for taking the time to assist this old lady with her situation.
I was born in the first half of the twentieth century, and quite a few others here are, shall I say, advanced in years so I doubt when one was born has any relevance.
