Bakery tally sheet

Hi kind people

I own a bakery with a Shopify account. I receive orders and have no way to count what I need to put aside from my shop side for my pre order side. I can get the data in a csv file with the customers I pick and have unfulfilled. I would love a count of the products I need to make, another complicated aspect is that some items are (1) and (6) I wouldn’t care if I have to count those together but it would be a lot cooler if it would automatically tally the items.

If anyone has any idea to help out I will be forever grateful.

To establish a database, it is initially necessary to standardize data entry (products), different names for a product cannot exist.

Basically that’s well supported by facilities on board of Calc: Pivot-Tables (formerly DataPilot).
Look at the attached example to see the how and the result for the example.
In practise you may prefer to write the table to its extra sheet (default), or to omit the Billing/Shipping distribution, or…

New attachment trying to solve the task as far as I (hopefully) understood it.

Some formulas use the REGEX() function. The sheets therefore need LibreOffice V 6.2 or higher.

This is amazing work thank you. I really would like to just copy and paste the items and the tally count when I wake up at 3am. Is there a way you can make a template. Trade for a black forest cake?

I will also send a photo of all my staff giving the thumbs up because they love you.

Hopfully there are a few days you needn’t get up at 03:00? I wouldn’t survive that for more than two weeks.

Concerning your request for a template: That’s not exactly simple. The definition of a PivotTable needs to contain the data range and a few more infos entered/created: It will save that info for further use, and store it with the file. If your sheet was an actual example of what you have, you can simply use my file every day, copy the old entries for backup to a new sheet, update the entries in the working sheet, and refresh the PivotTable using its context menu (rightclick).
I’m afraid there’s more I would need to understand to be able to offer further assistance:
What are the entries in column A meaning?
Why are the entries in colunmn C so complicated. I would expect them to be short product identifiers.
What do the bracketed numbers in Column C mean?
Is the list to be continued, and should the evaluation be restricted to a part of it?
(Where’s your shop?)

Missed to mention: I have no idea concerning Shopify.
How look your offers there? What do you get as data for the collected orders. Who maintains the data the for online forms (if any) …

Column B,C are the main concern here. I need to consolidate into just a single item such as Cranberry tea biscuit, and know how many singles and how many half dozen bags I need. If that makes sense…I’m sorry if it doesn’t I don’t use this much computer in making recipes.

Im sorry A,B (quantity, and item)
