In a LIbreoffice Writer document the hyperlinks work OK but the cursor does not change to a hand pointer when hovered over the link

Does not do this in all Writer docs. The doc is saved as docx.

OK see attached. Hyperlink is “table 1,” and there is also a hyperlink to an external web site in the reference.

Hi @vkpae,

Can you upload a sample file showing this? See How do I attach a file?

And you are using

  • which operating system?
  • which LibreOffice Version

(can’t confirm on openSUSE Leap 15.2 using KDE Frameworks and LibreOffice Version 7.0.5.2 from TDF; however it changes only, if key CTRL is pressed before and while hovering over the link)

Weird indeed. under Windows 10, it works fine (both with MS Word & LO). Under Xubuntu, the cursor does not change.

I managed to make it work after multiple operations but cannot find the proper sequence yet. Still on it. It may be linked to the record change.

Note: I’ve moved your attachment in your question and removed your answer (see the rest of the guide I’ve linked in my first comment).

Now that is odd because I am using Windows 10. I just recently upgraded to LibreOffice 7.1.2.2 maybe I should reinstall. But it must be specific to that docx because older ones I created hyperlinks work OK.

When I remove all the text but the hyperlink, I end up with a heading style. Once I remove the outline setting, it works again. But can’t find any trace of that heading setting from my deletion sequence.

For the record, I use 7.0.5 on my Windows 10 machine and 7.1.2.2 on my Xubuntu machine. Try to downgrade to 7.0.5 (that should be used for any production work instead of 7.1 IMHO). It may be a regression in the .docx import filter.

Can you share the resulting file?

There is a “paragraph” with the outline 3 setting, when changed to default paragraph style, it works again. Even if it seems malformed in the odt, it seems ok in the xml file of the .docx.

Can’t see what’s wrong exactly.
